Four Seasons Qigong is a traditional Qigong practice that involves specific movements, breathing exercises, and visualizations to align the body with the changing energy of each season.  Each season is associated with a different element, organ system, and meridian, and the practices are designed to prevent illness and support the body's natural energetic shifts.

Core Principles

  • Seasonal Alignment:

The primary goal is to harmonize your body's energy (Qi) with the natural energetic changes of spring, summer, autumn, and winter.

  • Five Elements Theory:

The practice is grounded in Five Elements Theory (Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water), which assigns a specific element and corresponding organs to each season.

  • Organ & Meridian Support:

Specific exercises and breathing techniques are used to strengthen the internal organs and energy pathways (meridians) associated with each season.

  • Holistic Health:

By regulating the body seasonally, Four Seasons Qigong aims to boost the immune system, enhance emotional balance, and support overall physical and mental well-being.

    Seasonal Associations

  • Spring: Focuses on the Wood element, strengthening the liver and gallbladder.

  • Summer: Centers on the Fire element, balancing the heart and small iIntestine.

  • Late Summer: Emphasizes the Earth element, promoting balance and vitality.

  • Autumn: Works with the Metal element, focusing on the lungs and large intestine.

  • Winter: Corresponds to the Water element, nurturing the Kidneys and Bladder.
