The 24-movement Taiji Short Form is a great way to get started with Taiji!
This simplified form (derived from the Yang Style Taijiquan Long Form) is an excellent, whole-body exercise. It focuses on the health and healing benefits of Taiji and is suitable for all fitness levels.
The slow, relaxed movements of the form enable smooth Qi and blood flow throughout the body, promoting the health of your organs. The stretches, twists and breathing used in the form promote loose, flexible and strong muscles.
The sequence starts with simple movements and gets gradually more complex toward the end. Like all Taijiquan forms, the Short Form is a martial art, and the movements retain the original martial character while focusing on its health and fitness aspects. The movements are trained slowly and mindfully, working with the energy of your body.
